Kenna woke up so excited for Kindergarten. She couldn't wait to go. This is Kenna in her new pink, puffy shirt (as she calls it). She picked it out for her first day of school.
On our way to class we stopped to meet the principal, Mrs. Hanks. She always stands in front of the big clock on the wall to greet the kids. She had to have her chance to touch the soft pink shirt.
Kenna's teacher Miss Eldridge was there to greet her and to help her hang her backpack up.
Kenna sitting at her desk. She shares a table with five other kids. She was super excited to see her name and supply box. There was a paper waiting for her to color until class was to begin.
After dropping her off to class we went to the cafeteria for two reasons. One to put money on her lunch card (just in case she buys her lunch or I forget to give her something to drink she can purchase what she needs). UH-OH her first credit card. :)
Also to be at the tears and cheers party the PTO throws for all the kindergarten parents. At the door was this cute little gift they were handing out. I teared up a little reading it. I teared up one more time while Pierce and Charly were eating muffins and fresh fruit in the cafeteria.
I went to pick her up from school and the carpool lane was outrageous. I'm told that it will get better though. Mackenna was beaming and bubbly. She said that she had a great day. The things that she noted to me was:
I like my teacher.
I made one friend.
I got to play outside.
I went to art.
We had story time.
and I didn't even have to go to the Principal's office (I guess she knows this is where you go if you're bad).
Eric and I are so happy for Mackenna. We love her and always want the best for her. All we can report is that our first day was a success at school and at home. Charly did great and can't wait for her first day of preschool (more on that next week).

Not as Young as we use to be!
This weekend we had two couples over for dinner and games. Before dinner Eric, Doug, Megan and the kids(yes Pierce too) hit the trampoline. It was funny to watch the two guys do front flips. Doug was the only one successful at landing it. I had to post the picture above because of how low it was going. Eric almost hit ground.
After dinner we got the kids bathed and we played a game of charades with them. Once we got them to bed we started our fun filled night of game playing. We played Cranium, Pitt, Apples to Apples and Catch Phrase(this was our last game to play, but we played the most). We consumed way too much sugar through sodas, candy and ice cream. We didn't end our evening until 3am. Let's just say that it wasn't pretty four hours later for me and Eric. The other two couples are kidless so they got to sleep in(SUCKERS!). So needless to say we're not as young as we use to be, but it was a great evening and it will be done again(maybe not so late).

Reunited Friends!!
When Mackenna was a baby and young toddler she would get together to play with this cute little boy named Cody (he's the one pushing Charly in the stroller). He came over the other day to play and we had a blast. We ran wild and played some great games. It so fun to be reunited again.
Here is Mackenna pushing Chase (Cody's big brother).
I can't believe these two cute kids will be starting Kindergarten tomorrow. Yes, please expect a post tomorrow all about my kindergartner's first day.

This past Wednesday we joined several other families and headed to the circus in Fort Worth. We decided to take the the DART rail and the TRE. It was great on the way there, however the way back we didn't think things through enough. We ended up waiting a half an hour at the union station stop for the last train of the night. Needless to say we got home after 1pm when the circus ended at 9:45pm. Crazy us! Luckily we had some great company and extra helpers with the kids. The kids loved the trains and just couldn't keep still. I think they had a hard time picking who to sit by. Trust me it was rarely by Mom or Dad(already too cool to sit with the parents).
I'm holding Pierce waiting for our stop. He,ofcourse, needed a diaper change. The poor lady that sat by me. The poor pregnant lady behind us, love ya Aubrianne!
Before the circus starts you can go down and meet the clowns and watch up close certain performers. Charly was scared of the clowns. She was holding on to me with dear life.
We tried to leave our own clown with the circus, but they told us that they were all full and didn't need anymore clowns. That made him happy. He gets to stay with us.
It wouldn't be a trip to the circus without some cotton candy.
On the way home Pierson was so tired that he was delirious. He was our entertainment. He finally fell asleep once we switched trains and were almost to our stop. The poor little guy.
Thanks Jana for playing and holding my Charly on the way home. It was great to see you again.

Monday evening Eric went outside with the girls to jump on the trampoline. To their amazement they found a baby bunny laying in the grass. I picked it up and we each took our turn to pet it. We put him down and we were worried that the mother would abandon it. We went out the next day and the bunny was their again, but no mother. Wednesday we went out to check on it, but no bunny.
Eric went out last night, Thursday, to look for it and found a nest of them under our trampoline. We have four of them. The girls love them. The four bunnies have been named, "Mikaela"(we'll have to work on the names). We go out periodically throughout the day to check on them and to get our little bunny fix. This makes me want to have a pet- kind of, sort of, Maybe not. It's fun to see them though.

A Special Tribute to My Best Friend and Boyfriend!
Today is my sweetheart's birthday. His day started out with him getting hot and sweaty working out in the yard. He's putting a brick border around our flower bed(pictures will be coming next week when it's done). A great big thanks to our great friend "the Russman" for helping out (thanks Aubrianne for loaning us your husband). Then Eric's family and a few of our friends came over for some great dinner and dessert. We had some great beef, chicken, veggie, and fruit kabobs. Thanks to Amber and Gail for those yummy things. The marinade was awesome.
Then we had a chocolate cake with ice cream. The birthday boys request. Ofcourse he blew the candles out all in one blow (we all know how much hot air this guy has).
I'm so glad that I have this guy in my life. He's a hard worker and is very dedicated to the things or people that are important to him. He's a great father, provider, friend, lover and jokester. I love the spirit he brings into our home. I also love his personality and sense of humor. I love you husband and I hope you had a great brithday.
Please feel free to leave your tribute to my husband for his special day. Anything that you can remember about him will be great. I know that he'll appreciate hearing from you that know him.

Even Pierson is doing it!
We have been spending ALL of our time at the pool this summer and loving it. At the beginning of the summer I was very nervous about having three kids that didn't know how to swim. To my amazement it hasn't been hard. We started the summer off with these yellow jumpers that went on over the girls swimsuits that contained a small tube to keep them afloat. Then one day it clicked for Mackenna and she started to swim. Charlize was watching her sister and said, "I can do that too!". She started to swim. I guess Pierce has been watching his sisters and is saying the samething. He loves the water. He will jump to me or just walk off the edge. He will hold his breath, put his face in the water and kick. That's what he's doing in the picture below. Happy Summer to all.
